As the winter holidays approach, students are getting more anxious about having another break. Whether each student celebrates Christmas or not, many are excited about spending time building a snowman, sledding, or seeing family. Additionally, students are simply excited to be home and have more time to watch their favorite shows and play their favorite games. Thus, it is imperative to plan winter holiday activities. By doing this, students will be excited knowing that their teacher cares about their feelings and interests. Since winter is often so busy, there are plenty of ready-to-go holiday task cards that will keep students engaged and focused.
Winter Holidays Activities
Teachers know that students can get antsy during the winter. It can be hard to hold attention spans from being stuck inside to awaiting a special day or event. Thus, holiday task cards are ideal to help students stay engaged, focused, and attentive! Even better, the holiday task cards focus on each winter holiday to ensure no students feel left out.
Kwanzaa Task Cards and Hanukkah Task Cards

Since every classroom has a different makeup, students may or may not know a lot about Kwanzaa or Hanukkah. However, it is still crucial to educate students on the different holidays that people can celebrate. In order to provide students with needed information, put out picture books about each holiday. Then, provide students time to read the books to gain knowledge. They may read independently, with a partner, in a small group, or with a teacher. Furthermore, students may even listen and discuss a book as a whole class. Students will have a blast reading and learning all about different holidays!

After spending time exploring different books, it is time to bring out the holiday task cards! Each set includes 24 true or false questions. To apply what students have read, they do have to correct the response if they answer false. To verify answers, students can also self-check using QR codes.
Christmas Task Cards
Students are going to practice their punctuation with these holiday task cards! They will read 24 holiday-themed cards. Then, they will have to record what time of punctuation is needed. This is a great way to practice when a period, question mark, or exclamation point should be used!

Ultimately, there are multiple ways to use the holiday task cards. For instance, they may be completed in centers. Or, they may be used independently or with a partner. Furthermore, they may be used in a Scoot game. Truly, the opportunities are endless when implementing these holiday task cards in the classroom!
The holidays are such an exciting time of the year! However, it is also stressful for teachers to channel this energy and still provide high-quality lessons. Thankfully, students will channel this energy into their learning by incorporating books and holiday task cards! They will have a blast reading about holidays and answering exciting questions.
